Port Whangarei Marine Centre’s High Quality Painting Service For Smaller Craft

Port Whangarei Marine Centre, Sports Fisher rolled out of paint shed, ready for launching

Oceania Marine Coatings has just completed a full external repaint of the Sports Fisher ‘Foreign Exchange’ at the Port Whangarei Marine Centre. The vessel was hauled out with the marine centre’s 100 tonne travel lift and completed under cover in Bay 2. The marine centre has extensive undercover options for refit and painting projects in a controlled environment and which ensures a high quality result that is not subject to the vagaries of weather.

The paint system applied was an International Paints Awlcraft 2000 product utilising top industry standard containment and protection procedures to produce dust free, high gloss levels. This project was the first one to be carried out on smaller craft involving a cost effective process for hauling out and placement inside the paint sheds.
