Port Whangarei Marine Centre – Sports Fisher Motor Yacht on Transporter

Oceania Marine has two large paint facilities at North and South Shipyards suitable for larger yachts and is a leading coatings applicator in the South Pacific region. With the recent establishment of the Port Whangarei Marine Centre at South Shipyard, Port Whangarei, New Zealand it can now provide an efficient and cost competitive undercover painting option for smaller craft. The marine centre has opened up Bay 2 to accommodate these projects utilising a boat transporter in conjunction with its 100T travel lift. This provides the ideal environment for quality painting as well as for any other refit work that is best carried out inside.

Martin Gleeson, Oceania Marine Group Managing Director, explains:

“We have a growing number of enquiries in the 12 to 18 metre class wanting high quality undercover facilities that guarantee them the environment that will produce a top quality job. At the Port Whangarei Marine Centre we can deliver this with a simple no hassle service. This will soon be further enhanced when we modify the lintel heights of the doorways to allow direct access by the travel lift.”

Below is a series of photos documenting the typical process of moving one of these projects from travel lift to Bay 2:
