The Port Whangarei Marine Centre located at South Shipyard, Port Whangarei, New Zealand specialises in handling sail catamarans. Its new Cimolai MBH100 travel lift has been optimised to accommodate vessel beam widths up to 10 metres and the front beam extension combined with a large fore and aft sling adjustment clears most forestay arrangements. A two sling or four sling arrangement can be selected depending on weight and lifting points.  The Marine Centre has the largest sealed hardstand available in New Zealand giving plenty of space for the larger area required by catamarans at no extra cost.

General Manager, Brad Hall, explains:

“The explosion in the number of sailing catamarans passing through and cruising the South Pacific made it very important that we designed our new Marine Centre with these vessels in mind. This we have done and as a result can now offer sailing catamarans a service second to none. Oceania Marine has always serviced larger sailing and power catamarans at North Shipyard. Some of the worlds largest sailing cats have been hauled out there and as a result the shipyards have amassed a great depth of knowledge in dealing with these craft.”
